Body painting on the Models

L'Oreal Fashion Week, known to some as Toronto Fashion Week was in full effect this week as Affliction was at Ultra Supper Club and had guy and girl models strutting their stuff down the runway. I'm not sure if they were trying to show off all of the body painting on the models or their clothing line.

Cricket Body Painting
Cricketer and 2006 Strictly Come Dancing winner, Mark Ramprakash, had his body painted to show key organs which benefit from a high-fibre diet. Fibre can cut the risk of heart disease, boost the immune system, reduce the risk of developing diabetes and help combat cancer.Mr Ramprakash, who won BBC's Strictly Come Dancing in 2006, said: "I'm shocked to learn that 80% of the nation aren't eating enough and fully support the Fibre Foundation's campaign to get fibre back on the agenda."Football Superstars Body Painting
ere's some images of the world’s biggest players as you have never seen them before! Current World Player of the Year Lionel Messi, Didier Drogba, Fernando Torres, Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard have teamed up with Pepsi Max to show their true colours as part of the new body paint campaign...
It wouldn't be a World Cup year without an elaborate Pepsi advert, and this year they've gone for a body paint campaign which includes a TV commercial filmed in Africa and highlighting the talents of the featured football stars.
Chelsea and the Ivory Coast’s Didier Drogba commented: "When Pepsi Max first approached me with the idea of using body paint as a way to bring to life their campaign this year I thought it was brilliant idea. In every football stadium around the world you see colour in the stands, but more so in African Stadiums where fans often use body paint to show their support for their team. Putting paint on the players was a great way to show our love for the game and I think the results are amazing.”

UV, Special Effects and Commercial
In some cases special effects are used to transform the art form into a totally different shape and object. Other special techniques include the use of glowing paints, that glow different colours under UV lights. Glitter, glowing powders, metallics and sticks are also commonly used.
There is a merging of many art disciplines into a creative explosion that often creates a big impact. Many elements and art forms are mixed together; nudity, face painting, elements of theatre and drama, costume design, film, photography, special effects and graphic art. This creates a risky, sometimes shocking, other times beautiful, impact on the viewers of this intriguing art form. The uses of the medium are varied and range from parties and functions, to high powered corporate product launches.
